How Healthy is Your Business?

When we think of health we think of our bodies. When we get sluggish or sick it is often a combination of diet, exercise and rejuvenation that we need to heal. Our businesses can also be sluggish or not in good shape. Just like our bodies our businesses usually need to be helped by putting attention on three main areas. When your body is not healthy you see a doctor or a holistic practitioner to determine the root cause of the health break down and to get a protocol for healing.  Sometimes the right business consultant/coach, looking objectively from the outside in,  can quickly identify the root cause and offer specific steps for healthy business growth and development.  Another viewpoint can be incredibly helpful to the health of your business.

How to Prepare When You’re Expecting a Child with a Disability

By Emily Graham

Preparing for a new baby is a big job. Most parents find that with each new day comes a challenge when making sure their lives and homes are ready for a child. When you’re expecting a child with a disability, there are many more considerations to make, as well as many more chances for stress and anxiety. It’s important to make sure you create a good plan so that everyone will be as prepared as possible. Think about medical expenses, insurance plans, and how to make sure your home is safe and comfortable for your new arrival.

Of course, it’s also important to make sure you take care of your own physical and mental well-being once your child arrives. Being a new parent can be stressful and changes most lifestyles pretty drastically, so you’ll want to do everything you can to help you and your partner get adequate rest, eat well-balanced meals, and look after your overall wellness.

Keep reading for some great tips on how to get started.

Prepare Your Home

It’s never too early to start thinking about safety in the home. Talk to your doctor about what your child’s needs will be and start making changes to your house accordingly. You might install ramps, change out door knobs for handles, add soft lighting, or make the bathroom more safe and accessible by installing a grab bar and seat in the shower. Even if your child can’t use these things for a little while, it will help the entire family get used to the changes more easily if they’re made early on.

If the changes your home needs are out of reach, it may be best to think about moving. Look for accessible homes in your area, and keep in mind that the average listing price of a home in Irvine, California, is $999,000.

Get Organized

Getting organized from the beginning will help you reduce stress as you navigate parenthood, so keep all paperwork related to your child’s birth, medical records, and even dates of doctor’s appointments together in one place. Write down the names, addresses, and phone numbers of every doctor your child sees; this will be necessary should you need to apply for disability insurance on behalf of your child. Start Thinking About the Future

While no one wants to think about leaving their family behind, it’s important for parents to start planning for the future as soon as their child is born. Individuals with special needs often have annual medical expenses, or they may need care if living alone is not an option when you’re gone. There’s a lot to think about and consider — such as starting a special needs trust — but you will have much more peace of mind if you start planning for your child’s future needs now.

Plan Ahead

When you’re expecting a child, it’s important to plan ahead for a few weeks after his arrival so you’ll be comfortable. This might mean preparing several meals to freeze that can be heated up quickly and easily, getting lots of rest, turning your bedroom into a sanctuary by adding blackout curtains and soft bedding, and getting in some exercise to ward off lethargy and stress. By taking care of yourself now, before your baby comes, you’ll be better able to handle all the things that parenthood throws at you.

Preparing for a child is a big job, and it takes a lot of patience and planning. Your home, schedule, and physical and mental health will likely all see some changes, so it’s important to practice self-care as often as possible. By starting early, you can ensure that you and your partner will be ready for anything that comes your way.

I AM

I AM Whole & Complete … I Am Joyful … I Am Healthy … I Am Prosperous.

If you believe that, then you’re already creating those things in your life, for what we truly believe we create. This is a basic truth of how our universe works. If you’re not feeling those things, then you are still in the self-discovery process.

My personal journey to discover and test life, as well as healing my body, mind and spirit, took several decades. I’ve gone through the dark night of the soul … a few times! I’ve tried MANY methods and teachers to find my “truth” and the practices what work for me. I also discovered that I chose to become a human being quite simply to experience the exhilarating adventure of remembering that I AM a spiritual being of energy, vibration and consciousness of pure, divine love – the most powerful force in the universe. And I especially wanted to be a part of the awakening happening right NOW on Mother Earth. This is an exciting time, but also one of great challenges.

Each of us has our own unique spiritual path to enlightenment, or to lighten up the darkness that is the human experience. But to do that, we all must find a way to transmute our human conditioning of lack, limitation and separation that our belief systems and resulting emotions have instilled in us. At a very basic level we must learn how to:

  1. RELEASE what does not serve our highest good = the negative thoughts (often unconscious) and emotions (often repressed/depressed.)
  2. REPLENISH with positive, after releasing the negative.
  3. RECONNECT to our highest, most powerful selves connected to source energy & wisdom.

When we do these things with enough consistency, our vibration increases to love-based rather than fear-based. THIS is when the so-called miracles happen, for we are truly powerful creators.

I invite you to do the following exercise for a few minutes to see how powerful you are. You need to be in a quiet, uninterrupted place, sitting comfortably with your spine supported and your arms & legs uncrossed.

Take several SLOW, DEEP, FULL BREATHS.

* On the OUTBREATH – release all the air from your lungs, and VISUALIZE all the tension leaving your body.

* On the INBREATH – visualize pure, divine energy filling your body, going into the place where you were holding the tension.

* Continue to do this until you feel more relaxed and peaceful, putting all your focus into the visualization.

* The next step is to take a few more deep, full, slow breaths visualizing divine energy entering your HEART. Feel your heart being filled up with loving, source energy – more and more with each breath.

* When you’re ready, slowly open your eyes just enough to read the following, one at a time with each inbreath, releasing any resistance or tension with each outbreath – OUT LOUD if possible:

I AM WHOLE & COMPLETE … I AM ENOUGH … I AM LOVED … I AM FULLY SUPPORTED … I AM BLESSED

Do you feel any difference from before you began the exercise? If so, you tapped into your powerful self. The first step is in being fully present in the moment, focusing your mind’s attention on what you want to do and knowing that it is possible.

We have all chosen to be here now, at this amazing time in human history, to BE our most powerful selves, and together with other like-hearted & minded people, co-create a world of peace, prosperity, joy and respect for all life on Mother Earth. What we believe we create. It begins with each of us. BE THE MIRACLE.

Automatic Writing

I am often asked, “What does it mean when you talk about automatic writing?” That, Dear Ones, is a great question! I will answer it to the best of my ability filling your mind with much activity and, hopefully, bringing about more questions.

When you are learning about something new, find a teacher whose energy you enjoy. The most important thing a teacher can do is challenge a student and empower him/her to ask more questions and to dig deeper. Know I wish for you to continue your quest for the answers to your questions and to use multiple sources to glean the information that you seek. Ask until you are comfortable with the answers.

The first thing to discover when exploring automatic writing is the word ‘trust’. This is a very deep and conscious feeling of knowing. Know that you are surrounded by Guides, Angels, Fairies and Others. They are with you throughout your lifetime and carry with them a powerful and everlasting love to help you learn the lessons that you are here on this planet, in this lifetime, to discover. So, you learn to trust, trust, trust whatever these energies are teaching you.

First, set the intention that the work you are doing is for your highest and best good and that you are completely safe in this endeavor. Then, go to a quiet space where you have a notebook and pencil lying close to you. You still your mind by concentrating on your breath and letting go of Ego. Breathing in and out in a quiet peaceful rhythm you hear chatter and your thoughts interrupting you mind. Continue giving attention to your breath until there is stillness. It is at this time you will hear a message. Without thought or question, you will gently write down the words you hear. The key is Trust with a capital ‘T’.

It may take weeks or months of practice to attain this level of awareness. Sometimes it is easier with a guided meditation where someone leads you to the stillness needed to allow the mind to completely accept the quiet and to hear the words being spoken.

As I learned to trust, I first saw a wizened old man dressed in white robes with sandals on his feet. He was standing in a gazebo. I heard, what I thought to be, the name, Armadeus. I began daily meditation with the oneness breath and continued to write down messages from Armadeus. After re-reading the material the next day, I realized that this was not me at all. There were words I had never used. There were phrases I recognized, but knew that they were not a part of my daily vocabulary. Over time, the question was posed; “Are you really Amadeus?” The reply came quickly. “Yes, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart”.

I questioned why someone so famous had come to be with me and he told me had been with me many lifetimes and that I was quite a handful! During the course of your lifetime, once you have conquered automatic writing, you begin to ask questions of these loving energies before entering your meditative state thus receive answers that help to direct your life in a positive direction. That is how I developed my first book, It is I, Amadeus; Channeled Messages from Spirit.

At another time, I will explain what I know about vocal channeling as I channel several entities that are with me from the other side.

I invite you now, to take what you need and leave the rest. Go in love, light and laughter for Eternity!

What is Forgiveness?

What is real forgiveness, and what does that mean? For me, real forgiveness is what I call in my soon-to-be-published book, the “Full Spectrum Forgiving” phase. This is the heart of the Forgiveness process. Full Spectrum Forgiving means forgiving everyone and everything– self and others. This is not automatic. We must do the work to get there!

In this phase, we begin to disengage from the anger and hurt as we bring to awareness the beliefs and misconceptions that were formed as a result of our experience. We begin to realize that the stories in our heads are only that – stories – and we can let go and detach from these dramas that have held us hostage to our hurts and resentments.

Letting go requires unearthing and acknowledging judgments of self and others, however. Only when we bring these judgments into awareness can we loosen their hold. Once this baggage has been released, it’s possible to see our hurts from a different perspective. In fact, the mind might say that there is no good reason to forgive, but the heart will awaken us to the possibility. And when there are no judgments – full spectrum, 360-degree forgiving of ourselves and others – the actual moment of forgiveness can be quick, like a moment when a key finally unlocks a stuck door. At times, though, it will happen in small bits and pieces over a period of time. We cannot surrender to forgiveness until we are ready to do it from an authentic, deeply felt place.

How do we know we have a judgment?  Every time you say “I should”, “they/he/she should” means you are holding a judgment. Play with the idea, and every time you start “shoulding”, back up, take a deep breath and explore what concepts of right and wrong are underneath the should.

Full Spectrum Forgiveness also means that while genuine reconciliation may be part of the process, forgiveness is ultimately a gift we give ourselves, not someone else.

What is the basis of this Full Spectrum Forgiving process?

This process has 4 steps :

  • Identification of judgments (are you “shoulding” yourself and/or others?)
  • Identifying the wound
  • Forgiveness and self-forgiveness affirmations
  • Reframing the incident.

Once you start living a forgiving life, you can start feeling the liberation people feel when they experience true forgiveness. This is often life-changing. And this freedom can become a way of life. As my clients have discovered, inner freedom can be experienced even in the confinement of a prison.

How do we know if we’re free from the past? When we can remember an old hurt without feeling angry, anxious, or agitated, we know that the chains have been cut. And when we have an experience of the inner freedom that releasing judgments provides, we want more of it.

So I encourage you to immerse yourself in the healing, liberating process of “Full Spectrum Forgiveness” now. If not now, when?
